Project evolution through time
Success at Trezena

The event at Trezena, in March 2016, was the first foray into vehicled catering services. As can be seen from the pictures, there is a wide assortment of sandwiches and lemonade, but the infrastructure to organize everything was still lacking. Nevertheless, this was a highly successfuly event that at least gave us experience and some funds.

Babilônia Feira Hype

This was our official, professional launch, occuring from December 16th to 17th in a traditional event that attracted over 15,000 people daily. The logistics have been much refined and the aesthetics look as professional as those of nearby vendors. Pamphlets were also distributed to augment outreach about the initiative, and 40% of the price of a full surgery, together with spontaneous media coverage, was obtained throughout the event.

1. The American School of Rio de Janeiro supports the initiative by buying 100 sandwiches (not all are pictured), thus contributing towards one full surgery. Pictured are Erik and Ms. Rhina Bardi, liaison to former EARJ headmaster Andrew Sherman.    |  2. Through some engagements (and mostly the participation at Babilônia Feira Hype), one full surgery was contributed to Operation Smile during Christmas; this card was written by the child who was operated on.    |  3. A blurry picture of the meeting between Erik, Thais Mendes, one ofhis contacts at Operation Smile (to the left), and Jeannine, the Latin American Operation Smile organizer, based in Virginia, who was visiting Brazil at the time, circa February 2017.

A last minute decision to conduct a flash-fundraising campaign at a yoga retreat by Naam Yoga paid off handsomely and sparked a still-lasting partnership. By selling symbolic pens for at least 10 dollars each (someone actually paid 1,000 dollars for one), 4226 dollars (the cheque was written before a few final donations) were raised for Naam Yoga within the span of 48 hours. The campaign asked clients to "test" their pens by writing down their e-mail addresses on a sheet of paper, which also provided IdeasLux with a diverse mailing list, encompassing nearly 200 names, from the event. Pictured in the first slide is Erik and Sivan Einav, the Naam Oyga LA head of fundraising, who greenlit this campaign and received the symbolic cheque.

The American School of Rio de Janeiro selected Erik to be their central applicant for this program, held in August 2016. Among other things, it serves as an incubator for social entrepreneurship projects, and, through intensive training in leadership, ethics, excellence, and, most applicable, design thinking, Erik developed his professional thought process. The pictures below show, among other things, pictures he took with some of the keynote speakers present in the program,.
